Therapy in Haven Spas

copyright 2003-2009 HavenMade Inc.

I have stories about our spas and the intensity of therapy. My favorite ones is from a fellow who flew in and wet tested the Springville (the sister spa to the Watertown) and loved it.

He got it home and his wife basically said "What do we need all those jets for. You know that we just like to soak in hot water?"

The spa they had before was much loved and out of date. It had few jets and very little if any therapy. It was what she had become accustomed to and had not ever tried a full therapy spa.  (The old spa was full foam and leaking inside the foam.)

One day both of them were suffering from a severe flu. He suggested that she try the main therapy seat in their Springville. She had a lot of muscle aches in her neck and shoulders, lungs all congested and suffering really bad. I have had flu like that a few times in my life.

She turned on the jets full blast and got the massage of her life. Neck, shoulders, back, hips, feet wrists. After she got a good night's sleep and woke up feeling a lot better, she now understands. It is a therapy machine as well as a soaking tub.

After that she started using the hot seat most every night before going to bed. She reported sleeping better and waking up feeling better.

We have had customers report a reduction of arthritis from out intense jets. Read the Testimonials by clicking on the menu bar on the left under "Testimonials"

Many people do not realize that therapy is something that is not always comfortable. You have to pass through the comfort zone sometimes to get the pain and tension out of the muscles and joints. Ask anyone who does this for a living.   I have worked in body work types of jobs, Massage, Polarity Therapy, and Shiatsu Massage (part time in the late 70’s and early 80’s). There are different levels of intensity of massage (or touch ) based upon the deepth of the pain and tension.

When you have deep tension in your muscles, it is a sign of mental tension in your body caused by pain. Our minds have a tremendous ability shut out most of the pain. (There is also pain from deformed body  parts as in my lower back and neck.)

Do this exercise right now. Sit quietly in a chair and close your eyes. Take you mental "eyes" and examine each part of your body, by focusing on each muscle. Start at your feet and go up.

You will find that you have a lot of muscle tension and associated pain that you usually shut out.  Now take you thumb and press on your caves and poke around. You will feel many points of pain as you press. Poke around on the bottom of your feet. Same thing. Your body literally takes on the mental pain and it reflects in your body as blocked energy flow.

When you use hydrotherapy to go in and work all those tension points, it improves your health.

Tension is caused by pain, it's cause is normally emotional reactions to life. That tension in your stomach when you get upset, that pain in the neck from the argument with the kids. That old feeling from some past pain from childhood. All of that is reflected in your body.

Your body is a reflection of the day to day tension of life. When those muscles are tense, they do not receive the life force very well. The blood is blocked and the nutrients are slowed down by the lack of blood flow due to tension. If the muscle is damaged, healing is slowed down because the tension blocks the flow of oxygen and nutrients.

The ideal condition is to be totally relaxed while doing daily battles with life. That is from reading yoga books. Since we are not perfected yogi's (HA!), we can use a hot tub with strong therapy to go in and take that deep tension out.

The best is to hop in and warm up a bit first, then set in the hot seat with the jets on a strong as you can take it for about 5 minutes for new spa owners to 20 minutes for old Haven Spa users.

Then sit quietly for another 10 to 20 minutes, looking up at the stars or thinking good thoughts. Do Not think about your problems!! That will simply put the tension back in fast. Think about solutions. Think about the good parts of your life. Or do what the yogis do and think of nothing but the beauty of the creation. Look up at the stars or look at fiber optic lights and think good things; maybe listen to soothing music.

Every time you do that you will receive the most benefits from your Haven Spa.

We have found that Haven Owners become accustomed to strong therapy and nothing else will do it.

The jets on the Haven Paramount spas are working at the high end of the manufacturer's recommendations for PSI and GPM. There are many of them that do the job very well.

There are many times when I don't even turn on the jets at all. There are other times when I run them full blast for 20 to 30 minutes. Other times when I run the jets lightly. Haven Spas are fully adjustable from very soft to very intense.

The levels of massage are due to having two speed pumps on all the jets and having air injection and turbo air. We have all the types of therapy and we don't sell you short.

Most other companies have extremely limited therapy. The jet pumps are one speed and they often have no air injection or turbo air. They use diverter valves to short cut the water flow of the pumps. There is a lot of details in the levels of massage that we have that no other company has.

Here is a synopsis of the levels of intensity.
This is for our Haven Spas with full therapy air and water jets.

1/ Hot/ warm water, no jets.

2/ Hot/ warm water with low speed jets no air at all.

3/Hot/ warm water with low speed jets and venturi air.

4/ Hot/ warm water, with low speed jets and low air injection and turbo air. (in the two speed blower models).

5/ Hot /warm water with low speed jets and high air speed blower and turbo air.

6/ Hot/warm water with high speed jets and no venturi air.

7/ Hot/warm water with high speed jets and venturi air.

8/ Hot/warm water with high speed jet and turbo air and air injection. (very strong)

In addition to that we make each of the jets fully adjustable and you can shut off some of them in areas where you are more tender to focus on the areas where you need deeper jet pressure.

You can also simply use the air blower by itself, I usually do that in winter for only a few minutes if the jet pumps are off; in summer as much as I want pumps or no pumps. While the jet pumps are on in winter and warming the air you can run them pretty much all that you want.

If the intensity is not there, you can't even understand what I am talking about. Most Spas with weak jets, cannot do the deeper levels of therapy that the Haven Spas do.

It is from my studies of the "body therapy" methods throughout the world that I have developed the Haven therapy with many levels of intensity.

Don't be hoodwinked into the nonsense that much cheaper spas using one speed water pumps with almost no real intensity? No turbo air and small plumbing pipes, Sold for $12,000 or more. How do they live with themselves?

You have to realize that if we can produce a Haven product with such great therapy, larger numbers of jets and sell it for the low prices that we do, I get really perturbed by the nonsense and greed in this industry.

The DAIT system is the final touches on an almost perfect product based upon all the technology we have now.
